Idle Issues
« on: July 16, 2012, 10:04:27 pm »
I've run out of things to try, can anyone shed any light on possible causes for this. Basically the engine won't idle at all, the only way to keep it running is to have your foot on the throttle. It starts everytime and idles briefly on cold start but if you blip the throttle it won't come back to idle just cuts out. I've changed things like the ecu, dizzy, fuel pump relay, fuel pressure reg, plugs, changed the ignition timing doesn't make a difference were you set it, still cuts out.

I've done a quick vid so you can see what it does

Check your engine earths are all on properly.

Check your blue temp sender and lambda probe.

Mine had a similar issue which turned out to be a faulty wiring loom.

Earth by the charger is a vital one. The car will hardly run without it.

I've checked the earth's, all ok, blue temp sender is brand new too. The idle switch, should you be able to hear it click when it's working? The WOT switch clicks but the idle doesn't.
