First time g40 owner
« on: June 29, 2012, 09:51:44 pm »
Hello there club g40 members, I have just purchased my first polo g40,
it's a left hand drive import, bought as spares and
Repair with fuelling issues as I am told, managed to get it running today perfect but then slowly
Starts idle rough and ones turned off will not start again.
Looking for pointers really, plugs and leads will be getting changed shortly
And will probably get the fuel system flushed with new filters,
any other ideas there,

Any help cheers

Fred

Welcome to the club. Get some pictures up.

If you do a search in the engine section I'm sure you'll find something especially about the hot starting. Might be hall sender related.

I think lambda probe is the other suspect in this situation. Welcome to G ownership..

My blue temperature sender wires where broken and it wouldn't start when hot - I think it could be that or Lambda problems

welcome to the forum.  there's really quite a lot of things it could be, start off by reading the engine diagnosis thread in the engine FAQ section, that should point you in the right direction to finding the problem.

When I was looking at tw engine last week the blue temp sensor isn't blue. Looks non vag as well. Probably worth replacing. Tried the unplugging of the sensor when up to temp at revs didn't drop at all.
