Oil cooler
« on: April 13, 2012, 07:50:37 am »

Right, need info how big coler hv to buy that I would hv normal oil temperature? Thing is, as I don't hv oil cooler in my Arosa on summer time oil temperature (when drive on highway) is rising on 110°C which is much to high. For charger best would be if oil temp won't pass 86°C.

I would like to buy a mocal kit with thermostatic control oil sandwhich plate but don't know should I buy kit with 13 rows or hv to be more rows ? (16 or 19... ?)

Cheers

Where are you measuring the temp from?

Typically the sump will be 20'C or so hotter than the oil gallery.

A 16row should be ample even in 30'C ambient.

I'm mesuring on sump botom. On cork I hv temp indicator nd it show 110°C when runing fast or when wether is hot (app 30°C)

So fm this what you're saying I hv to take 16 rows cooler ?
