Lower chassis brace

Just wandering, how much difference does the chassis brace that runs under the exhaust effect handling? Would it be ok to run without it??

I've not had that on for years, I doubt it makes any difference as it's rear of the bulkhead, not an area that's really going to flex.

Not run mine for years either. I always had it down a a cat protector.
