Fitted a new on before I put in the 268 cam into my GT due to one went solid and the new tappet is still really tappy and I done 60+ miles today, is the norm or is something not right

You need to check that the oil feed on the cylinder head to the tappet is not blocked.

If it's getting oil it may be going down on a sticking valve.

All the valves were re sitted so they were fine it was just this tappet that was solid so I replaced it
