fitting a SNS Performance chip to G40 ecu

Hi, looking at fitting a SNS chip ive brought recently any help,advise guideness on fitted it (do's n donts) i would be most gratful as never done one before and dont want to damage any thing, some one told me to lay it all out on tin foil??? is that right??
