I dnt think it fuel pressure because it sticks of fuel but I'm not certain

Jezza-7

Could be over fueling, checked your lambda? Also take your plugs out and check them to see if there black.

P1rik

Yea the plugs are black and theres black smoke coming out the exhaust when you rev it

Jezza-7

plugs should be a white colour iirc. Sounds like it is over fuelling. When was the lambda last replaced?

P1rik

Oh right I'm not to sure I only got the car about a month ago so I dnt really no anything about it

Sounds like the Blue ecu water temp sensor.
Get a new one as they don't cost much (under a £10).

P1rik

Ok I will try that first thanks

DKnight

yup id go with blue temp sender, easiest thing is to just unplug it once up to temp see if it alters the running of it. But dont be fooled into thinking you can unplug it for a long period and start it again, or you will get the same issue of it not wanting to start, or struggle at least.

hayesey

don't start the engine with the blue temp sensor unplugged it'll put the ecu in limp-home mode for a while.

they cost about £10 and are a good investment anyway because 20 year old ones aren't likely to be all that accurate any more and cause a slight drop in MPG even if it's not gone so bad as to be causing the problem.

Its deffo worth getting a blue temp from VW ive had em from GSF and Euro and they either didnt work to start with or went after a few weeks.
