Hi Thorsten,

I have a few questions as I am quite interested in a G45 charger. 

If I bought your RS2 conversion (which you rate at 166PSI with a optimized/ported G40 charger)
and fitted a G45 charger, what power gain's should be expected?
Would the MAP sensor/boost sensor need replacing?

Good morning Mark,

a normal G40-charger has ca. 0,5-0,6 Bar with a series pulley. The G45 have ca. 0,9 (+/-) bar.

I don't think, that you get a boost pressure more than 1,0 bar. Until 1,0 bar, the series MAP sensor works. (Thank you Andy for your correction!)

My advise ist, that at first you still use your series MAP sensor. After all modifications are made (on your car/engine), you should check your max. boost pressure.

By the way, the boost pressure is not only depending from the G-charger. Modifications like a tuning cam shaft or a cylinder capacity expansion (not to mention a leak in the boost pressure loop) could be could be result in a more less boost pressure.

Stock MAP sensor is only rated to 1.0 bar (or 200kPa absolute), so if you're running more boost than that then you need to consider fitting a 250kPa/1.5 bar rated item.

Hi Thorsten,

Have you tested the G45 charger on your RS2 conversion?
Are you able to post up engine dyno or rolling road output figures from your standard RS2 conversion and then a comparison with a G45 charger fitted?

It would then highlight the advantages that the charger makes to the identical spec and car. 
I am aware that different engine spec's will lower boost figures due to the engine working more efficiently. 

Currently my G40 is running a ported G40 charger / 65mm tooth belt conversion / GT inlet manifold / de-wegded  throttle body / chip and I see 12psi boost (on a budget boost gauge).
