Original Polo G40
« on: January 03, 2012, 10:29:44 pm »
MODEL
Original 1992 Volkswagen Mk3 Polo G40

REGISTRATION
K240 UNH

The Build Thread
http://www.clubpolo.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=125683

ENGINE
1272cc
148,103 Miles
Jabba R1 Supercharger
Jabba Induction Kit
Big Valve Head
65mm pulley
Cammed (after melted piston and rebuild, timing wasn't done so fitted standard. Upgraded comes with it)
Chipped
Standard Manifold
Full Stainless Steel custom exhaust system using 2.5” pipe and no mid box or cat
Uprated Magniflow HT leads
Standard throttle body and injectors

December 2008: 149bhp and 136lb torque
Jabba have stated I should be seeing 165bhp easy with the BVH too, I obviously have some restrictions that need to be sorted. It has great potential
http://www.clubpolo.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=131831&st=0&start=0

SUSPENSION
KW Variant 1 - Adjustable height with fixed damping

I paid £710 for these with struts and they got about 100 miles before my piston melted and my G never saw the road again

BRAKES
Standard G40 brakes and vw pads but comes with grooved discs

WHEELS
Original 13” G40 BBS

EXTERIOR
Supercharged decal
Factory pins stripes and door cills
German left hand drive head lights
Clear side and front repeaters

INTERIOR
Factory Immobiliser

REPLACED
Just to name a few:  Battery, Sparks, Dizzie, Surcharge, Steering Arms, Petrol Tank, Handbrake Cable, NSF and NSR Shocks, Front Pads, Wipers, NSF Shock Bump Stop, Rear Brake Cylinder, Front Control Arms, Track Control Arm, Lambda (see my build thread for stage by stage replacements and fixes)

BAD POINTS
Small amount of rust on drivers door where supercharged decal is
3 or 4 dinks around the car
3 scratches on the bonnet

The car does run BUT after installing a new engine (supplied by Yoof at polo performance) there are a few things left to do. Can't recall mileage of that engine, but I'm sure if you ask Yoof he might be able to tell you.
Original engine available if interested

Exhaust manifold gasket needs to be changed
Ignition timing needs to be set
On and off sticking throttle issue
Needs New Radiator Fan (I have one here)
General look over before MOT as it's been stood

COMMENTS
Bought in July 2008
Full service history
Folder full of receipts including my £1,000 plus bill from Jabba Sport
My current input into her is approx £4,000

Selling due to not being able to insure 3 vehicles and I want to tackle drifting, I can't commit to both with my budget so something unfortunately something has to give and it breaks my heart to be writing this for sale post :(
My husband has tried and failed to help me fix it (I'm no good under a hood) and I can't afford to pay someone to fix her as the last person I trusted fitted and paid a lot of good money too, put the wrong spark plugs in her causing it to melt a piston. That was nearly 3 years ago this March!!! A shit time in my life back then, storage, keeping the pikey iron men at bay and having shit all money since then has kept me in this situation of not being able to get it going. I can't have it all, so she has to go. Ouchie.

I would love to see her go to a good home where she will be given a good life and see the roads to meet that porsche again on the M5 ;)

Location: Castle Donington
Trailer required to take home
Currently SORN

PRICE
£2,000 without KW V1s
£2,500 with KW V1s (will split from car to sell separately)

Open to sensible negotiations and I'm only interested in px R32

No time wasters please.

Thanks
Dirrt

p.s I am also selling my compo's, if anyone is interested please get in touch

I'd be interested in the KWs on their own.

If I bought this it would be to break it for my own needs. I hadn't said anything up till now as it looks too nice to break up a pukka G, but if you're going to end up breaking it anyway let me know and we can talk about the whole car. I'm only down the road too.  ;)

i think when shes talking about splitting, shes referring to the coilovers and not the whole car.

and she wont sell the compos, until the car is sold.

if she does break the car i will kick her in the faj! but if someone else buys it to break, its a crying shame, by all means buy it for your own purposes (ie taking the coilovers) but just put it back on standard suspension and move it on. no point breaking a G40 that doesnt need to be broken for parts!

Saf has it spot on, I will not be breaking this  >:(

I want to sell the G complete with coilovers ideally.
Compos won't be sold unless the car goes, as if I end up having to keep it I will want the compos for planned refurb.

Like I said, it looks too nice to break which is why I'd ignored it until there was talk of splitting.

What was up with the old engine? Is the bottom end in one piece?
