Cat 1 Alarms
« on: August 18, 2011, 01:55:28 pm »
To get Adrian flux to ensure me at a reasonable price my car has to have a cat1 alarm installed by a thatcam approved installer.
I removed my old alarm and could easily install a new cat 1 alarm. But I wouldn't be able to produce a certificate if there was an accident only a re kept for purchase of the alarm.
I just wondered how other people have got around this if for example their car has/had a cat one alarm but no certificate.or by using different insurers or have people just forked out the cash to has a registered installer fo it ??

I'll do some insurance shopping 2mro flux quoted me £460 3rd party and £800ish fully comp 5k limited miles with an assured value of £5k but they want a cat one alarm, problem is to get one istled is £300 all in but I could easily install one myself just can't certify it Ill phone around and see what can be done.
I'll chuck a toad ai 606 on there any way for the remote central locking probably anyway but I'd rather pay £100 and install it myself rather than £300 installed !
