Ignition Timing
« on: June 08, 2011, 01:49:44 pm »
Right I've just got a bit confused after reading previous posts on this subject.

Basically, I was setting the ignition timing after changing hall sender.

I have a timing gun with advance, so I warmed the car up to temp, unplugged blue temp sensor, set it to 6 and lined it up with "Z" marker (ignition timing), tightened dizzy back up and plugged blue sensor back in.

But I have just read that it should be set the mechanical timing mark if using a gun with advance, mechanical timing mark being "O" ?

So do you only use "Z" if you have a timing gun without advance?

It runs fine atm, but ever since fitting the dizzy back on it hasn't felt the same, Just want to make sure im doing it right.

Thanks
Rich
