Hi guys - just looking for a bit of guidance prior to jumping on this, I've removed the BRV but need to take out the pressure valve behind the oil breather take off dome, I've never removed one before but I am told that behind it you wil find a plastic "smiley face" which needs to be "smashed" or drilled out... In all honsety I dont really like the sound of either of those so just wanted a little reassurance before I do it!

any guidance/pics/tips greatly appreciated.

thanks,

Not quite sure which bit you are talking about smashing... you just need to remove the flying saucer plastic thing that sits in the top of the metal tube on the oil breather dome. It is a push fit with a plastic clip to secure it (that will probably break). The flying saucer thing is the pressure valve; you shouldn't need to remove or modify the metal oil breather dome. Then attach a hose to the metal tube and run to a catch tank.

people dremel the inside out of the breather to help it breather and lessen likelihood of it blocking in future

Ended up going to my mates who did it on his turbo and removed the meshing behind the smiley face, it solved my heavy oil breathing but a week or so on i've just noticed it has started leaking quite a bit... it felt like it fit pretty snugly with a light tapping with a rubber mallet... (also didnt look noticably out of shape)
Is it worth removing again and adding some gasket sealant and refitting or would it be better to try an source a new one?

cheers

the issue ended up beign that there was a slight nick throug the outer lip from reomoval which wasnt spotted at the time, bit of gasket sealant has done the trick perfectly!
