Tooth belts and uprated pulleys
« on: May 02, 2011, 10:14:35 am »
Ok please excuse my lack of knowlegde here.
I got a stage 4 Jabba charger on mine and the car is also chipped. The tooth belts and pulley were uprated a long time ago but I think the belts need changing.
Where do I start please?
My car never went to PDS just in case that helps. Does Jabbasport still do thing re G40 chargers?

Yes they do.

There are a number of things to point out.

1.  External drive belt or belts.  If your charger pulley has two belts that drive it, then they are cogged vee belts (known as v belts) and are stock from the factory.  If this is  like a cam belt, then it has toothed pullies and these are either alloy (psd) or steel (from germany).  Club g40 supplies toothed belts to fit the psd toothies at £14 each.

2. internal belt.  There is a small timing belt on the charger (visible when you take it off the car) club g40 supplies these at £6 each and should ideally be changed annually!

jabba do still do g40 stuff.
