1991 Polo G40 engine conversion set up Scotland just south of Glasgow.

I was going to put it in my saloon but its for sale soon to let me finish my squareback, so doubt i will ever use it and the credit crunch means i could do with the cash so its up for sale.

its a good engine i bought about a year ago.

I got it of a chap who was breaking a Tornado red G40 which had a very rotten body for £1000

its low mileage under 80K (79,994 iirc), has had a lot of new is bits in the past and hasnt been messed with. It should be about 113bhp at the flywheel as it's totally standard and has the correct ATV Gearbox.

I took it to bits and got most of it powder coated gloss black at a cost of £110 and bought some of the bits that were missing for it (intercooler air intake, few wee hoses).

its stripped down to a block and head with sump and all internals intact so it just needs the inlet and exhaust manifolds, gearbox, starter, boost pipes put back on it etc so easy bolt on job. Its fairly self explanatory but if you get stuck im only a PM away. i would paint the block first to be honest as its daft not to when its back to a block and box that's what I was going to do.

Charger is ok but i dont know when it was last serviced so i would say it needs a rebuild (£350) or a inspection and new seals (£50-100) at jabbasport to be safe.

Only bit that needs work is 1 of the exhaust studs is stuck so it needs double nutted off or a wee bit of heat so it can be replaced (advised) or you could put it back on as is as there is just enough thread for it to grip, but no real issue in the scheme of things.

Exhaust wise i have a genuine VW decat pipe, no mid or rear box.

it has everything to drop it straight in...

ECU,
boost pipes solid and rubber
intercooler and air intake
complete engine and gearbox,
starter
charger and oil lines and all the charger oil feed lines
all the wiring loom from the fusebox forward (all 3 bits)
Air intake box
All the nuts bolts, washers to put it back together
all good for 113bhp and mountain of torque:

New powder coated:
water pipe
Alternator brace bar
Alternator Retaining T piece
Drivers Side charger mount
Charger brace plate to Exhaust manifold.

brand new VAG gaskets/seals

Inlet manifold to head
2x Exhaust manifold to head
Throttle body to inlet manifold
Water pipe to block
Charger elbow O ring

Here are some pics of everything loosely mocked up last weekend to prove its all their etc. I didn't mount the charger on it as the powder coated bits might have got chipped but its all their at the side. Excuse the flash as the garage is dark so it makes some of the bits look dirtier than they really are.

So basically you get everything in the pictures below as well as..

The full 3 parts of the wiring loom (fusebox forward)
decat downpipe ( cat downpipe not included)

Heres some pics of it as it is in bits and back in the boxes

not really wanting to split it as it will likely leave me with bits kicking about and im trying to have a real good clear out but would be willing to split it if i can get my £1000 back in bits.

That's a really decent advert, everything clear with lots of pictures.
Good luck with the sale mate.

Pictures are useful outside of the sale as well. For when you've had one lying around for four years in bit and are trying to work out which way everything is routed!
