sticking gears

hello  was just wondering if anyone has had the problem of when theyve given their polo sum stick it just locks into gear i heard it might be to do with the gear linkages was wondering if anyone else could inliten  me abit more

na it aint the oil level and it takes a while before it will com  out

I had this problem! It was the linkage at the gearbox! In my case It refused to go in 1st,2nd and 5fth gear but would go easy in 3rd and 4rth! It was as simple as tightening the bolt that connects the link to the selecting rod behind the gearbox!
