Recently found out that your local road planning dept. do a thing called "gap appreciation" studies. Essentially, how long does a driver take to spot when it's safe to join a flow of traffic. In London, the average time is 1.2 seconds; here in Inverness it's 3.5 seconds which doesn't surprise me at all. Only three times slower off the mark, maybe it's the cold that slows them down. What's it like in your corner?
