Dru's Grey G40
« on: July 06, 2011, 07:16:38 pm »
Thought I had better start a project thread, if anything, to help motivate me a little bit more.

Bought my G on the 25/5/2011 from South Wales.

The drive back to Cornwall went without any problems.

The only thing I had noticed was a slight smell of fuel with the window or sunroof open.

A couple of weeks ago I thought I had better make a start on inspecting the areas that needed attention properly, so the strip down started.

After cleaning out the rear wheel arch, i discovered where the slight smell of fuel was coming from.

Today the strip down went a little further with the removal of the front carpets and centre console.

This unfortunately revealed more issues.

Will be ordering my repalcement fuel tank at the end of the week, and then waiting for a nice couple of days to remove the old, and get my very good friend Mikie (who is a bloody good welder!) to help repair the holes!

Right... I'm back on the case again!

Managed to get a space cleared out at our storage building at work, and layed up the G in the dry untill I had the time to get back on with the strip down. That continued today.

Found another issue of a previous bad repair under the washer bottle.
