Replacement G40 Bee Sting Aerial
« on: October 17, 2010, 11:55:11 am »
Hi all

This is my first post on here.  I've not got a g40, its a std mk3 shell, but I thought I'd ask you guys as its a g40 question.

I want to replace my bee sting aerial.  I had one fitted in 2002 and now it's seen better days as the rubber looks perished and the mast is cracked.

From memory its a Hella one.  I think I got it from GSF for around 15 quid.  Its similar spec to the official VW one as it had a seperate amp feed and aerial connector.  It looks like the OEM one in this pic

Anyway two Hella ones are listed on ECP.  One at £36 and one at £15 (part numbers 931440010 and 931440100) which is the OEM spec one?  There's also one on GSF (part number 892VG0080) for £15 but this doesn't have a brand.

If its £36 is a proper VW one much more?

thanks all

Neil

I've got the £15 on mine and it's OK, but smaller at the base than the OE spec one I had before.

ive got a spare original aerial in a box in my garage - what would you say they were worth? - this is a proper minter as it was taken off a shunted car with low miles on it
