Polo GT G40
« on: August 28, 2008, 09:01:24 pm »
Hi there!  :ph34r:

Thought it would be cool to show you guys my G40 project !
The car im building up is a 1986 GT which i have thorn everything out of, except the engine (which is coming out very soon).
I'm putting in a G40 engine which im gonna help breathing with a T25 turbo of a Nissan 200SX S13.
For the suspension im gonna have either coilovers or cup suspension (60/40 or something), and for the chassis i have polyurethane bushings all over and ofcourse strutbraces both infront and in the back.

For the interior, i cant decide wether im gonna do it all race style (no interior except bucketseats etc) or if gonna use the old GT-interior i have.. Most likely i will use the GT-interior! I have also bought a OMP Corsica deep dish steering wheel and im getting OMP pedals.. Since i found out that theres no shortshift kit for this car, im gonna have to do the budget one by cutting the gearshifter a few inches ;p haha.

The car will roll on Starmag 13"s for now, but im looking at getting OZ Superturismo WRC later on! For the bodywork im not going to have a front bumper, and im gonna cut some holes in the body for the intercooler, im also thinking of getting group-H widebody arches shipped over from germany. Im also waiting on a Kamei G40 Cup frontspoiler! :) At the back im making a Lancia Delta Integrale Evo "replica" flip in glassfiber.
The whole car will be painted in Comet Blue or Helios Blue..!

Now over to the parts list: (I already got the stuff in bold)
- Polo MK2 GT Interior
- OMP Corsica Suede Steering wheel
- OMP Strutbrace in front
- OMP Strutbrace in the back
- OMP Strutbrace underneath
- OMP pedals
- JBL 4"*6" fitting into the original speaker"boxes"
- Hidden ipod jack-plug so i can listen to crap
- Powerflex/Polybush bushings
- Polo MK2F G40 engine
* Chip
* Sportexhaust
* Greenfilter
* T25 Turbo
* S13 200SX Intercooler
* Wastegate
- Polo MK2F G40 chassis
- New brakediscs and calipers
- Starmag 13" (OZ Superturismo WRC 15")
- Supersport Coilovers
- Zender Sideskirts
- Group-H Widebody Arches
- Lancia Delta Integrale "replica flip"
- Kamei G40 Cup Frontspoiler
- Painted in Meteor Blue / Helios Blue

Some parts :)

ive also decided to make a shot at widing the arches with vauxhall nova/opel corsa arches, as they look abit similiar to the urquattro/e30 m3/integrale body :)

Painted in atlasblue, rabbit gti frontlip, lancia integrale spoiler as well as the sport quattro bonnet!

hopefully, by the end of the summer or something ;p this is how it will look like :)

I always said the Mk2 Coupe's looked like a small Delta Turbo, but you've mangaed to achieve the full scales down Intergrale look, think the mirrors could do with a rethink though!

:) the integrale has always been my favourite car.. but its so expensive, and i wont dare too think about the insurance :< so the solution is a wided polo with a turbo converted g40 engine ;D haha.. im going to make custom mirrors with a basis of cup ones.. :) you will see!
