Redundency
« on: August 09, 2008, 02:26:49 pm »
Hi All,
Lost me internet connection a while back, but got one of them mobile broadband modems now. Pretty good too. For those that don`t know it yet, it`s a modem that takes a Phone Sim card and plugs into a usb socket on yer PC/Laptop and goes thru the mobile phone network for Broadband internet. I can plug it into anybody`s PC/Laptop and away it goes. No G40 for me yet. 3 week ago my company (Riley`s Architectual Metalwork) was put into the hands of the receivers and i only have 3k to my name. All is not lost yet though as i start a new job a week on monday. Once i get going again i can save more for the Garage workshop in me garden. Don`t really want to buy a G to have it sat on the street with the shit kids round here. Glad i sold the Fiat estate a month before firm went bust. Lookin at Polo`s between J and M-Reg for a cheap run around for now, though i now cycle the 20 mile round trip to work (or did) wich has saved me a small fortune. Looks like lots has been going on while i`ve not had access to the site wich has brought some good reading and some horrific, i mean- That guy`s 3 cars that got trashed by fire. (i would have cried) I`m affraid i have to swear- Get these cunts out the ferkin Gene Pool.  :scyth:  Missed out on the Rally`s coz of keeping the cost`s down of having no income for a while. Gonna Have a clear out and sell some of me Amateur Radio Gear i dont really use to rais extra funds. Probably next year for a G now :(   Excellant site chaps, glad to be back. Take care all. Fred.

It does. Even tho i`m driving round in the 1Ltr coupe it puts
a smile on me face every time.
Had the Charger in the front passenger footwell for a couple
of week just to remind me that i`d finally got nearer to a G.
LoL. Well coz i had no where to put it really but it made for
 some good conversation as well..

Thats right Jon, didn`t want it rolling around in me boot. lol.
you did well at the rollin road day getting more than the estimate.
Most seemed to get quite a bit less.
The charger i have according to Pete, says it looks like a PSD Job.
Wouldn`t know meself but then it is obvious even to me that it has
been ported. Some i`ve seen in pics look bloody awfull, i mean
the machining marks. Or possibly a better way to describe it
 would be "Die Grinder marks".
My work had me mirror pollishing various types of metal in
all sorts of shapes and from what i`ve seen in some of the pics
i wouldn`t have paid for it.
Even my charger aint brill but i have the gear to sort that
 and pollish the surfaces.
Shame those new standard chargers on ebay at the mo are £530 or
i`d have one as i`d prefer standard.
Dan (DK) says they will need rebuilding with being 15 year old tho
i`de have said just new seals.
Nonetheless, it`ll make it even more expensive.

 Regards, Fred.

My bhp was a total guess to be honest! JUst thought of the 1st sensible figure and wrote it down! lol. I was surprised how close i was to it as well. My charger is crying out for a service along with the rest of the engine (not had time or funds!) so i bet i've lost another 5/6bhp there.

I've seen those chargers on ebay. I was thinking about getting one and having the porting work done to it so i could have a nice clean charger but i'm going eaton shortly (i hope) so no need for another g-lader. gonna get another un in on clubpolo RR day hopefully if the cars up and working by then to see what kind of difference it makes.
