wanted g40 i have a mk1 jetta to px

im looking to get a g40 and just thought i would try my luck px with my jetta
currently finishing off putting a 1.4 8v polo 6n engine in it running on bike carbs!

I can help with bits if you need, i've just mot'd my mk1 golf with the 1341 gggggggggg engine in. The hardest part of the conversion is the cam-belt end engine mount, its a reet slag but well worth the grief.

Yea I'd be tempted to do that realy although if your going to the expense of a g40 lump do your reasearch and find the best lump for you and how you like to drive as there is alot of other viable options that make economical sense aswell, I'd also consider a kr on carbs quite cheap can make 200bhp and pretty simple well worn route sound great and probably a bit more retro suiting the car, or there's the 1.8t bit kore expensive and more involved conversion, or maybe a abf lump 150 bhp straight outa the box and engine probably costs a few hundred squids . Although if you want forced induction consider the g60 or g40 as options.

I'd love the ABF in a mk1 but peeps have said they're too heavy. I suppose with the booty on the jetta you could put a bag of cement in the boot and that'd even it up hee hee.
