thats just a drain i think...  from scuttle downt he back of the inlet

if its coming from there - would suggest yr heater matrix area has a leak - bleed screw open perhpas?

yeah that makes sense because there was a puddle in there. I presumed it was because of the rain.
Will look and see why it's leaking there now!

Cheers Pete

took it all apart and seems to be leaking from the matrix thing inside.
presume this is from me leaving it with only water in over the winter!?

Is there anyway of blocking it off so i can still use the car without the heating?

Thanks
Ben

  • Back on the road in 2010! No, 2011! Maybe.

Just join the hoses together, or connect together both stub pipes in the engine bay.
I'm not sure if the coolant valve closes both sides, or how good it seals, but maybe it'll be ok if you leave the temperature set at full cold?

Right - water leak is fixed now - only problem is it's tapping really loud!
No idea what it is as i put engine in without touching anything internal!

ideas?

Thanks
Ben

Ben- engine was on a stand for about 18 months, so the tappets will have drained down. Usually takes a few hundred miles to recharge them properly.

Only other option is to do what Pete does and keep a set in your kitchen in a bucket of oil!
