Really bad juddering??
« on: March 05, 2010, 07:27:03 pm »
After having the G back on the road for about 3 days it has now decided to die on me...again.
Driving along earlier and it started juddering really bad which got worse when i accelerated. When coming to a junction the car would just cut out instead of idling. I had just come from jetwashing it, but can't see how any water would of got into anywhere.
I have taken the belt of the charger and disconnected a boost pipe and it still judders but idles at about 1300rpm.
I have also tried removing the boost gauge a recently fitted but that never made any difference.
I have recently had to time the engine up after having a pulley off, but it don't appear to of slipped or lost any tension.
I may be wrong but i thought I saw the gauge go up to about 1.3 bar when accelerating, however was only running about 1 bar beforehand - however that might of just been my eyesight.

any ideas?

Thanks in advance
Ben

update - spark plug 3&4 are wet - unsure if it's oil or petrol
1&2 are dry and black

nope none of the above, had new leads plugs and dizzy and nothing.
If i disconnect the leads from cylinder 3&4 it makes no difference to the engine - same with the injectors!
I think the next step is to do a compression test?!?
Thanks for the help guys

that'll be it then!  Might be the head gasket like Rae said, fingers crossed anyway.

headgasket gone, warped head, but looks to of been skimmed too many times before.
headgasket also tore off and got caught up in the valves so don't know if i'll need new valves?
