Could it be an oil leak from the chargers drain plug thats dripping onto a hot surface?

it is leaking oil from somwhere. i will get underneath it today as long as the rain dries up :(

You could check the head gasket at the front of the block by the charger. The oil seal in that corner is prone to be a bit weepy.
