Evening all,

I have G40 running 150 bhp with boost return mod, 65mm pulley with custom remap, R1 supercharger, GT inlet.

Yoof has installed a 4 branch and exhaust system, and now I will be installing a BVH. What type of cam should I buy and which make?

The car is to be used mainly on the weekends but could be used as a daily. So dont want a Cam which has the power in the higher rev range.
OR should I stay with the standard G40 CAM?

Any recommendations and where to purchase from would be helpful.

Once I have installed all the parts will most likely get anther custom remap.

PS does de wedging the Throttle Body help in terms of power on a G40.
I had de wedged a GT I had and it seemed to be better when cruising on the motorway but no other difference was noticed.

people hav stated the g40 ca is  good alrounder..
i have a piper fast road..cant remember the durations but is power band peak is 3.5k 7k

Ask Pete what he recommends.
Plenty of options out there, Schrick (sp?) seem very expensive, but Newman and CatCams are much cheaper.
As I say ask Yoof, he'll point you in the right direction.

Pete has been a great help and would recommend to everyone! But he says the Schrick cams are expensive at the moment, so I was looking at other makes.

I am not sure on what duration to get.

Also is it worth getting or should I stick with the standard cam?
How much power could a Cam add once mapped properly or will it shift the power up the rev band?

piper state 8bhp increase.. check there site..
sure its around 272*
but takethis information with a pinch of salt..
maby talking 180 for pipercam..??
a vernier would also squeeze one or two horses out.

Typically you will loose power somewhere to gain elsewhere. A small loss at low rpm is normally acceptable on a modified car to get an increase in midrange and top end where with other engine mods the engine breathes easier.
A different cam, some 250cc injectors and a custom remap could see an extra 15bhp on your engine. The G40 makes plenty of low down torque, so I wouldn't worry too much about the engine becoming too peaky for everyday use. As long as it's properly mapped you'll be reet.

If you you do not want to loose much power low down, I would just save up for a big valve head

vikash

Already bought a ported Big valve head, trying to decide if I should install a Cam as well at the same time.

Will look into the pricing and see if I can afford it. (need to know if supercharger is fine first)
