adh gear box ??

ive just been trying to find out what gearbox is in my car currently and the gt - g40 conversion was done by radicool with a py engine and they wrote a adh gear box ive searched the net for adh gearbox and all i could find is somthing called a campmobil !! realy hoping my gt aint got a camper gearbox init !!! just wondering if any one knew where i could find out more about this adh gearbox has any one herd of it before ?? Also what way is there for sure to tell what gear boc youve got ??

The person writing the invoice must of wrote it down wrong as it definantly says adh on the invoice buy as you say a gt box is probably what's on there thanks rae. What's the difference between this ahd box an 8p box and an atv is it just the ratios with the atv having the longest ratios of the three?? What clutch am I looking at for this one aswell is it the 190mm one the same as all other mk3 polo's ??

There's not much difference in the gear ratios, it's the diff ratio that gives a GT (AHD) 'box away. It really is quite short and partly what makes a GT real fun to drive. 8P and ATV boxes are fairly long legged, 70mph is just over 3k rpm in 5th IIRC? In a GT it's nearer 4k rpm.

Been so long since I last drove it that I cnt remember what sort. Of rpm I was doing at 70! Will there be some sort of number stamped on the box I can I'd it for sure with if so where abouts is it ?

Rght under the thermostat housing iirc.
at the top of the box where it meets the block.
