well the inlet was pretty unique too and the brakes werent exactly standard.  it was really a psd "test" car, it was just steve's own project car.

only unique thing was the ignition system
Golf coil driven directly by Emerald if memory serves?

Was hanging to look at, but that was kind of the point - was plenty quick enough, and think that's why Steve sold it. Was a bit too quick for regular fun blasts on the roads - Steve's currently Polo-less and I think he intends it to stay that way from what he was saying at work on Sat! He was supporting the military vehicle I'm designing the CAN architecture and some of the electrics on.

It was too much of a handful on the road, I had to be on the ball 100% of the time and with my limited skill didn't really have big enough balls to push it to its full potential like Steve did.

Wasn't just the power, it was very light and very unforgiving.

With a good driver on a track it would be an absolute weapon.

The tin can rules OK!

How many of us have got parts developed on that slag eh? Legendary.

LHD too, overtaking would be scary if it wasn't so quick!

Has anyone got any pics of the eng bay from psd's turbo conversion I did have the pic that was posted on there website but have since lost it, I am doing a turbo conv myself & have got the chance to get a 20vt inlet & throttle body from a S3 (came from my mates 03 20vt polo with 550bhp yes 550bhp in a polo) & would like to see what it looks like so we can work out what fits were.

hmm thought about this awhile back but couldnt be arsed, a decent 51mm throttle body it would probably out-flow most G engines anyhow, however not so good if you want TPS for standalone management!

Last year we were testing a FS car at Brunters and I had a chat with the guy who owns the yellow sister recce car, this was essentially a left hooker cup car but with custom cages welded cage, AP brakes, not sure on size but nothing smaller than  16s could fit over them, had a bias pedal box, as well as other rally goodies. Dare I say it, Alister Mcrae probably used it when he drove for VW in the 90s...
