Hi i just thought id do the decsent thing and join as oneof your mods helped me out earlier when i was in a pickle..
Im mick im 25 and live in doncaster i own a car club called octane styling and i am starting a members car feature and the first car is a 1991 MK2F VW Polo G40 and it is a very nice motor too, i needed info on the car for when it came out of the factory and paul helped out in a very speedy time too might i add.
I Own a Fiat bravo hgt 147 that ive been building for the last 2 years ready for when i get my licsense back after my surgery, i have mainly concentrated on the engine tbh as i prefer poke before looks lol ive always had a place in my heart for the polo especially the g40 too unfortunatly ive never had the privalige of owning one but maybe 1 day eyy....
The bravo is running about 200bhp off nitrous when its running lol and i have also got a 100bhp streetblaster kit installed for that little extra poke...
i plan on rebuilding this in 2010 as im finaly going for forced induction so ill let you know what happens..
The info ive got so far is this:
0-60 ------------------------8.1secs
Top speed-------------------121mph
Power------------------------114bhp@5500rpm
Torque-----------------------150nm@3500rpm
Weight-----------------------830kg
Wheel size------------------13" bbs RA's
Tyre size--------------------
Insurance group-----------
Years sold ------------------1986- july 1994
How many sold-------------Around 600 mk2 cars were sold in uk plus a further 50 cup cars
Transmision-----------------5speed manual
Engine discription:
1272cc supercharged and intercooled 8v single overhead cam
the G40 got its name from thr 40mm inlet pipe it ran on the engine and was one of the first scroll type (G-lader) engines to be used by VW, the car even had its own race series.
Is this all correct?
