Searching for a G40 Lader Supercharger
« on: November 30, 2009, 08:32:05 pm »
Hi! I´m wrighting all the way from Finland.
I found this forum in search of a G40 lader supercharger.
I´m building an old Saab 96  :o with a Ford 1.5 litre V4 engine and the G40 would be perfekt to the projekt. Not exactly a Volkswagen but i hope someone can help me with my problem?
It just seems to bee very hard to find a used or rebuild supersharger.
Can anybody give hints, where i could find a rebuild or used G40? (from a realiable seller)
Here in Finland there are no sellers of G40 supershagers new, rebuild or used...
Same problem seems to bee in Sweden also =)

I allredy found:
http://www.g-laderseite.de/eshop/index.php
and
http://www.g-lader.info/g-lader.htm

But i don´t understand Germany  :( so i try to find sellers with service in English...

Thank you for your help!

P.S. my project saab -> http://www.kolumbus.fi/toni_koskinen/saab_96.html

Hi, welcome to the forum.

Thorston at g-laderseite.de speaks good english, lots of people here in the UK buy stuff from him.  Not sure he sells whole chargers though.  His website has an english version too.

As for finding second hand ones on here then the for sale section is your best bet.  But they don't come up for sale very often as there were only ever approximately 600 G40s sold in the UK.  They usually sell for a lot too!  Another place to look is http://www.clubpolo.co.uk/forum too

Is there any reason you want to use a G-Lader?  A lot of people in your position (wanting to supercharge older engines) use the small Eaton supercharger from a BMW Mini Cooper S.  These can normally be found for cheap, they are from a 1.6 engine so should suit your 1.5 v4 fairly well and I can't imagine it's going to involve any more work making an Eaton work on your engine than a G-Lader.  Just an idea anyway.
