Tyres for standard alloys..preferences?
« on: October 31, 2009, 08:58:49 am »
Anybody got any preferences for a particular tyre brand in the standard 175/60 13 tyre size please?   I've been looking to replace a pair of perished Dunlops and there isn't much choice available locally..Seems to come down to either Firestones (which ,personally I wouldn't risk on a wheelbarrow!) Falken ZE912's,or Toyo Proxes CF-1's although there was mention of Yokohama A048-r's (which are trackday type tyres)

What do you reckon is the best bet for all-round capability?

Peter.

most people say yoko a539 if you can get them (they phasing that size out)  or toyo proxes.

Not a lot of choice in 175 60 13 to be honest.

not a HUUUGE difference in 185 50 14 and 195 45 14, I'd suggest it depends on rim/drop/use of yr car.

RAs on stock or slightly lowererd and you like yr car to be comfty as the roads are sh1t - 185 50 14.

very high power, very low, then maybe 195 45 14
