turbo time(t3 t25 k03)

hi
my charger gave up lastnight ???
so im going down the turbo route,my mates dad is making a manifold for me im getting a t3 off a friend cheap or what else should i look at ,k03
iv got the ic and pipes and some oil lines
need water pipes/bits
oil drain into the sump and std feed(above the oil level im i right)
downpipe il get a exhaust company to make
turbo chip ect
i only want around 160-180bhp
i know i have missed bits
anything else im looking at

also would i need a wastegate on the header? i dont see anyone running one

Last time I heard about anyone using a T3 on a G40, ha had to wait for the turbo to spool up again after each gearshift, so a T3 is not a good idea (unless you have an ultra high spec 1,5L)

If you want below 180bhp then I'd go K03, the manifolds are available off the shelf (as are the downpipes) and they're a well worn route now, the K03 can give 200bhp+ on a G40 motor, so you're working well within its limits.

If using a K03 it's got an internal wastegate, so should cut down your fabrication time.

Also there a several maps available for K03 turbos now, which will give around 170/175bhp at 15psi on a well set-up engine. So right in the middle of your target power. The smaller turbo will be far quicker on the road than a larger T25 or T3 aswell.

may try the breakers :)
my mates asking £50 for his t25 hybrid off a escort rs turbo but as you say it takes time to spool up
k03 there no lag is there well not much
how much am i looking to pay for a k03
well that make the mani easier im going for a rothe type but in stainless tube
just need the turbo asap to measure thing up like where the flange should go
ect
killing my head all this haha enjoy it though

it was rattling grinding squeaking  so took it off ad opened it up and it was a mess
its been ported to s4 with 63mm pully
