air box restriction

i was reading a article about the g40 and it said that there is a restriction in the outlet pipe of the standard air filter housing so i had a look tday wile i was doing my headgasket and found it so i removed it g40 feels a bit more responsive has any1 esle removed this and what did they think cheers

well the restrictor is about half the size of the pipe its definetly noticable.
