Drivers steering arm hitting the inlet manifold
« on: September 11, 2009, 11:25:15 pm »
Anyone else have this issue? When i give the steering some right hand lock the drivers steering arm brushes the back of the inlet manifold .

The car is lowered 60mm and the tracking etc has been recently done.

Often happens when down this low with 175/50, my GT used to just miss the inlet but hit the brake servo. The gearbox mount on the subframe drops the engine a fraction (couple of mm).

Having said that the car I had in last weekend had fouled a few times pre subframe- that was down 60mm on Bilstiens and 175/50 R13 tyres.
