Clio is fun enough to use as a sensible weekend car, but I was blown away by hayesey and andy easily at polo show in it- that's with them on low boost maps!

I think you need a car which is opposite to the g40 in size, power and economy- then you can have the best of both worlds! A 150bhp g40 turbo would make a sweet daily though...

This was my thinking. The Passat is slow, soft, economical and quiet. Everything the Polo isn't! Which ever way I swap, the other car always feels good. :)

Lotus are hit and miss to be honest, and less practical than the G40 by miles!

Out of that choice I'd get the diesel- the 20v is slow for what it is, and the diesel can be remapped to over 350Nm still with 50mpg!

the cupras are 180bhp... not to be sneezed at.

the fabias are 4 door and tbh look a bit like a granny car.

hmm unsure. think either i might become bored.

might consider a 1970s/80s landrover

difference between octavia and fabia is huge (not only size) as octavias are 1.8t petrol and fabia 1.9 tdi.

Octavia petrol unlikely to be fuel efficient! may aswell buy an ibiza or audi or golf

Any VAG estate really, as long as its TDI! Borrowed my dads TDI Passat for a euro trip this year and it was so good, couldn't fault it! 130bhp TDI engine was awesome!
Or a polo TDI, dont really need the space as im 19! tbh, any VAG Tdi would be sweet!

those Fabia VRS are great cars, my mate has recently bought one. Wasn't cheap but it's bloody good, not the fastest thing on 4 wheels but by no means the slowest and it goes round corners well too in totally standard form.  One them remapped and with a bit of fettling would make an awesome daily driver and still do 50+ mpg.

Annoying thing about my passat is that when you find yourself on a nice b road in it you just can't have fun.  It's comically bad round corners and the brakes are rubbish (over heat in no time).
