anyway tommo i have a used 3 paddle plate from cg motorsport if you give me a few quid for postage ill send you it and you can make your own presure plate or summat, it still has plenty life left in it.

Pressure plate or friction disc? Either way that sounds very generous to me, and would be much appreciated.

OK, If I use a clutch plate for Polo 6N AFH (1.4 16V) and clutch disc for Golf MK2 1.6TD??? They can be assembled for G40 with no problem, but how much torque it can drive?

Tommo

Im guessing it will be exactly the same as a G40 clutch, around 150lbs/ft.

Doc J

... And some ideas components of what models can I use to make a clutch for 170 Nm? I'm interesting of what can I use from other models, because here in Bulgaria when hear "G" and the sellers calls prices compatible with a whole G-car.

And the performance parts... I can bye 2xG40 with the money for paddle kit.

lance

i didnt ask for a 3 paddle it just come like that when i said i want it to handle 200lbft if hasnt got dampening springs just a solid plate,

an yea tommo just the friction plate i have just got back in from the unit but am going back up in a min so ill take a pic when am up there if i remember.

anyone know where i can get a speedo cable from? i went the scrap yard for one but there was no mk1/2/3 polo's in there!
cheers.

Tommo

170 Nm is 125 lbs/ft. So an early MK4 16v clutch should work fine. As far as I know they bolt straight on.

Doc J

You mean that MK4 16V works better that stock PY clutch? Or the PY clutch can fork fine up to 180 Nm (for example)?

hayesey

stock g40 clutch is good enough for that, early 1.4 16v is the same part.
