Bosch coil packs
« on: February 22, 2013, 09:12:09 pm »
Evening all. need a new coil pack for the G. phoned tps and they want £120 for a genuine bosch one. then phoned gsf and they want £35 for one made by bb2? sounds cheap and crap. so had a look on ebay and found these

http://compare.ebay.co.uk/like/380492209884?var=lv&ltyp=AllFixedPriceItemTypes&var=sbar&adtype=pla&crdt=0#

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BOSCH-IGNITION-COIL-VW-Polo-1-3-Coupe-86-87-08-1989-08-1990-2G-0221122349-/380492275257?_trksid=p3284.m263&_trkparms=algo%3DSIC%26its%3DI%26itu%3DUCI%252BIA%252BUA%252BFICS%252BUFI%26otn%3D21%26pmod%3D380492209884%26ps%3D54

Is there a difference between the two? or just the price? even at £84 thats a £40 saving over vw for the same thing
thanks in advance
Taylor

Just found this too. any more reliable than the bosch unit? going for reliability and longevity over performance gains here

it's not a g40 specific part, the coils on most mk3s and mk4s (6n) are the same.  You can get them from GSF, Eurocarparts etc...

So that bosch one for £50 for a (1.3 mk2 polo) should fit? i didnt really want to go to gsf as they are inferior quality, as ive just found out with my dizzy cap

Taylor, I think the Beru ones are supposed to be very good and are available from GSF.

Beru? that would make more sense. the guy from GSF definitely said what sounded like BB2. So people rate Beru? because they are only £35! which is a bargain! compared to £115 from TPS
thanks

Agreed! Beru ones seem to be good! I had 2 coils (one original and one a part from euro) which fialed inthe space of two days randomly! This beru one is doing good and a decent price!
