-82 "steilheck" G40
« on: April 01, 2010, 09:04:25 am »
Hello!
I have a -82 Polo "breadvan"/"steilheck" that is converted to g40!!
It started its life as Formula E, but it was rebuild in the middle of the 90's with a G40 engine! Not done by me!
Got the car 3 years ago! It didnt run proberly then! But I have done some fixing, still more to do before I can take it for some nice drives! There have been some test drives!!
More info about the car!
- G40 interior
- Steffan 5-stern 7x14
- KW springs, Yellow Koni Shocks
- Aint sure what colour it got! But its not the stock colour...
- And I not sure if there is done anything with the engine! But I think it goes very well!
- Derby/Polo Classic lights and grill
- +++

How it looked like when I got it..

Engine bay! Bad place to have a Intercooler...

But I wanted a stock look!! So I changed to stock bumpers!

The plan is to have it as a track-day car! So I want to have a subframe for the front suspension!
Intercooler will be replaced with a ford Sierra/Sapphire Cosworth 2wd Intercooler, that has been converted to fit my G40!
And it will be placed in where it was on a Polo II g40!
Its my #2 project so it will not get as much love and care as it should, so progress will be slow... :-\

That looks so much better on stock bumpers.
Keep up the good work mate,
Cheers,
Richard.
