The New Red Dwarf...
« on: April 13, 2009, 10:51:31 pm »
Well i was sceptical of it, but i have to say i thought it was really good, good story, good action, great humour

the budget production actually helped it! Just like how it used to be!

I didnt think they looked that much older, are they doing another series?

All in all i give it a big thumbs up, well done to such a small TV channel to do something like this

:D

the only thing it lacked was the canned laughing! really noticeable, oh and no dwayne dibley, i was praying for it lololol

I watched them all last night, I have to say I was quite impressed too.  I was expecting it to be dire but it was quite funny.  It was always the budget production that made the old ones too, the sets etc... I preferred the proper old sets than all the computer generated stuff they used this time but I guess it's miles cheaper to do computer generated scenes.

Danny John-Jules didn't look to have aged much, I think the others have a bit, you can't really tell with Robert Llwelyn though because you can hardly see his face!

Story was a rip off of League of Gentleman's Apocalypse film, which tbh is much better.

Wasn't bad tho.

well my expectations were pretty low because of the last two series which were terrible!

However last night they had Back to Earth Part 1 on again so I watched it again.  Then right after it was an episode from series three (the one were photos come to life) and these news ones certainly just don't compare to the old series.

It was good, but it wasn't hilarious. I remember the first five or six seasons being really good, laugh-out-loud comedy. These three just weren't.

I really need to update my Red Dwarf episode collection, they're all on VHS!

Concise and accurate!
