Poly engine mounts??
« on: March 18, 2009, 08:12:38 pm »
Just wondering about a few things in regards to poly engine mounts...

How are poly engine mounts put on? i'e are they two part or are they plyable enough to squeeze in?

They are harder to fit than the rubber OE ones. I found a vice and grease to be quite useful for applying the pressure needed to squeeze them in ;D

washing up liquid and a vice  ;D Well, that works for standard ones anyway, I've never tried fitting stiffer ones!

Get them warmer so they are pliable (don't go mad tho) and use a bit of soap to push them in. I did three normal ones with just soap holding the mount in a workmate, before now.

i fitted mine at work, me and yoof came up with a little system using old pieces of cone shaped metal with massive washers etc to pull them into the mount, took us like 10mins to do the whole lot.

doddle!
