G40 Radiator
« on: March 04, 2008, 11:16:41 pm »
If you are ever in need of a mk3 G40 radiator, then you can also find one in a mk3 GT as well.
Here is what it should look like.

Notice is has bigger smoothed end tanks and more horizontal water cores (24) compared to a standard mk3 polo radiator.

Got a pic of a VAG normal Polo one to compare? I think the donor G40 had a non-G40 rad on it, so looked the same as my CL one. Anyone got an idea on prices?

I bought a new G40 rad fairly recently (albeit from ebay).  Looks genuine, has proper part codes etc.. on it.  It has the smooth end tanks but the larger tubes a bit like a normal mk3 rad.  So I'm not sure if VW have stopped bothering to get different cores for g40/gt rads or what.

The standard rads have ribbed end tanks and don't have that white box with the part number printed on it. Pretty easy to spot the difference using that.
