« on: February 02, 2009, 10:43:26 am »
has any kind person on here got access to a lathe they can do a small job on for me?

I need some long hex nuts turning down.  I have bought some of these:

If there's knobody near to you who can help I could probably get that done for you at work, how urgently do you need them? (i work in a machine shop most wednesdays).

well, as soon as really.  but beggars can't be choosers  ;D  If you can do it next wednesday and I can't find anything sooner then that'd be much appreciated!  The nuts should arrive tomorrow, so I'm guessing there's not time to get them to you by this wednesday.

If its urgent and you know of any local engineers then it would probably be best trying them a its only a 5 minute job :)

Hi Tom,  it'd be 19mm across the flats and m12x1.75.  I have already ordered some studding connectors though which would just need cutting down and one end turning down to 16mm dia as per my crappy picture above.

er thread actually needs to be 1.5mm pitch, maybe I should have measured that before ordering the nuts  :-[
