Can't get these any more and mine's looking pretty scabby. Anyone made their own and what's best material?

I would just make one from mild steel and then powder coat it or hand paint with rust proof paint (I like POR15, I painted mine with that years ago and it has lasted a long time).

I'd have thought you'd be able to find a decent 2nd hand one though?

Or just fix yours up, for things like this my process tends to be remove looser rust with a wire brush on a drill, then treat with rust eater (I used to use Kurust but more recently Bilt Hamber Hydrate 80), then apply a decent rust proof paint such as POR15.

In my experience it's the small brackets that attach it that rust away.
