Wouldn’t say I’m a pro or expert but had struggles finding a belt as mines needed a 1080
Went to euro car parts.... hopeless.....

Then went to a local place called Galloway industrial  I think....

Do machine belts for factories etc

Cost like a tenner and arrived next day..
advice would be don’t go to car bit but industrial shop instead

https://www.maxrpm.de/Replacement-tooth-belt-for-the-toothed-belt-conversion-kit-VW-Polo-G40-Gates-HTD-1000-8M

That what you're after? The last one i got was off amazon, but that was a few years back, quarter of the price as well.

Search "1000-8M-20 Timing Belt" on amazon, looks like they still have them.
