Aluminium radiator...
« on: May 13, 2017, 01:41:44 pm »
Has anyone got any experience of 'upgrade' alloy radiators that appear on ebay please?
Are they worth bothering with, do they fit alright and are they any better for cooling effectiveness?
My current rad. is fine, but i've got to remove it to install a newly powder-coated fan shroud and fit a new fan switch....ideal time to upgrade if it's worth doing.

Thanks for any advice.  Peter.

Never had an issue with the std rad personally. If you do then it'll be gummed pipes, snapped water pump blades or something. Polos tend to be fine temp wise.

Thanks for that...I'll leave well alone then!
Not looking at spending money for the sake of it.

For future reference, when I did my mk2 golf g40, I did a bit of research and found that the mk2 golf 16v rad had same dimensions as a 1.3 golf rad but better cooling. I'm almost sure that a polo rad is the same as a mk2 golf 1.3 rad, ergo a mk2 golf 16v rad should fit a polo and cool better whilst retaining oem look.
