I remember DKnight selling this - it is a Ford colour, the car was originally red.

Oh I see, I did wonder, the bay is black and that's what made me twig, it's also chipped of on the turret in picture and is red underneath it looked.

Well I'm picking it up on Sunday, was hoping it was original but oh well. It may end up going back red again, not sure, depends on paint job I guess.

Thanks for the reply. Is the old owner on here still? Worth asking him about it maybe?

Thanks

Colour doesn't suit the G40 at all, looks very similar to bright blue metallic from mk2 golfs.

Weird it's so moldy as wasn't it only for sale like a year ago or so?

Wonderful, thanks guys. If I'm honest, I'm not overly taken on the blue either. I think I will be having it painted back in its original red paint.
As long as it's not a nail then I'm happy really, not expecting a new car. Be nice if it had some history, chap says it has a folder full of receipts but his idea of a folder could be smaller than mine.

My plan is long term, restore it to a very tidy fairly original condition.

Many thanks

I love that colour on it, really suits it imo. As has been said, looks like the Ltd run of 500 they did on a late mk2 golf, all were 1,8 drivers I believe. Always wanted one in that colour! I've got a white GT I could swap 😉

Yeah that's what I first thought, the golf colour is what I thought, shame it's not.

I've got a GT aswell so thank you for the offer, I don't collect it until Sunday anyway 😂

Did you collect this? it's back up for sale;

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1991-VOLKSWAGEN-POLO-COUPE-G40-SPARES-OR-REPAIR-BARN-FIND-G60-ONLY-87-LEFT-/361986892832?hash=item544819a420:g:ItYAAOSwq1JZDbwH

No I did not, it's an absolute heap!! Drove 2 hours to get there and it was a right shed! Needed a new bootlid, rust all over it, rust round windscreen, shit paint job, still see red everywhere. Had no oil in engine so charger has likely run dry, could be fucked. Hardly any service history, is idea of a folder full was a folder but barely full.
Guy wasn't even sorry I went all that way and wasted £60 in fuel!

DO NOT WASTE YOR TIME IF YOUR THINKING OF IT.

Many thanks!
