Will later 6n2 front wheel hub fit the G40 strut?
« on: April 26, 2017, 10:40:44 am »
As title, I'm struggling to find a driveshaft for my G40 but can easily get much thicker 6n2 driveshaft. Problem is they are 22 spline outer where the g40 is 20 spline.

So my question will a 6n hub fit the G40 strut?

6n2 driveshafts are longer than the G40 ones! I am running a G40 engine and transmission in my seat arosa that uses the same driveshafts as the 6n2 and g40 original one's were too short to be used! Are you planning on shortening the 6n2 driveshafts? Also I think you will run into troubles with the thicker driveshafts hitting the chassis. I could be wrong.

When I ran my mk2 Golf G40 I had to use a 1.6 diesel shaft or soemthing daft with a G40 cup on the end. I remember knocking various ends off various shafts and frankensteining my own up.

My point being, you may be able to make one good one out of exisiting parts to get you by.

Is it passenger or drivers side you're after?
