Introducing myself & G40 - J413 TCY
« on: September 02, 2016, 07:25:35 pm »
Hi All, after 21 years since I first drove in a G40, Ive become the owner of that very same car by total fluke.  :o

I went to see a Golf Gti Mk2 advertised locally, which I purchased, turned out the owner also had a Lupo Gti and a G40, which at that point he wouldnt sell. 2 weeks later he contacted me asking if Id take the other 2 cars due to a pending house move. Prices agreed and deal done....

The car is a 1991 Polo G40 (All correctly registered and not a re-shell) finished in Grey
Car is rust free, its been carcooned for past 16 years. 2 minor trolley dents one on o/s/f wing and one on n/s door.
Started regularly, new belts and charger rebuild before lay up, due to health reasons.
2 previous owners both local and supplied by Sinclair VW in Swansea when new.
Totally original with 104k and Full VW Service History and all receipts.
Interior is like new, original BBS alloys.
Will be undergoing a full re-commision over next week. Pics from as found to final will be posted soon.

Welcome, looking forward to the pictures. Nice to know they are still out there in original condition.

Yeah, its also nice to know theres some affordable ones left out there also. I was unbelievably lucky on the price I paid for all 3 cars. Theyre all low owners, 2 are v. low miles, original and with full historys. The guy who had them was a very fastidious, with the money to buy.

I never bought it to keep it, I only ever wanted the Golf Gti the owner had, but for what I paid for this I couldnt refuse. Hey it may be a CAT C but the receipts to show properly repaired are there, and its not some fake lashed up reshell!!!

£2800 is still a lot of money for a cat C G40 that hasn't seen the road in over 10 years.
