Fuel gauge problems

I changed the gas tank and after that the fuel gauge is acting weird and the needle isn't moving according to fuel level!
When i take out the liftpump and try to move the sender manually it works fine, but when back in the gas-tank it doesn't!
Anyone experienced this and what can be done to fix it?
