shift light
« on: January 05, 2016, 10:54:39 am »
sorry to get all "fast&furious" but I'd like to get a shift light in my polo to make sure I keep the RPM sensible on track days, it's all too easy to end up way past the end of the red zone when you get carried away!

I'm on the verge of buying this:

Just wondered if anyone had any other recommendations.

I used this one on my mini...

As the engine is carb (45 DCOE) on electronic ignition and balanced, I needed it more to curb the revs more than the shift light, but it works a beaut. it's a nice soft cut too - (not that you'd go for this model) light comes on 500rpm before it starts cutting, so it's a nice gap. Useful tool. Easy to set up & reliable. I'd recommend OMEX.

Slightly cheaper here and if you speak to them nicely they might give you 10% discount as well.
