conversions or genuine
« on: November 22, 2018, 01:45:47 pm »
Obviously genuine g40s are fetching good money these days . I sold mine last year for £5000 but was very very clean and original.

Currently in the market for another , what's people thoughts on conversion cars , gt converted . Most seem to have huge specs compared to genuine ones .They seem to vary from 2.5k to 3.5k . Is it worth holding out for genuine car for a little more .

Just after a fun usable classic .

nowt wrong with a conversion to me.  Depends how well it's been done and if they've just swapped the engine or done the other bits like brakes, steering damper, rear axle etc...etc...

If you just want one to enjoy driving as oppose to collecting it, then just go for what ever comes up that has the best condition shell as it's getting harder & harder to find non-rusty ones now.

Mines a huge spec conversion but still fully trimmed

Apart from checking the reg you wouldn’t really know it was a fake so still gets loads of attention

Being a conversion I ended up with a very quick little polo for half the price of a nice genuine car
